    • LOL! Yeah, he’s done. There have been quite a few indictments and those that haven’t already pled guilty will have their trial starting soon and that’s when Trump will really get “buggy.” Everything that I’m hearing and reading says that we are in for a HUGE STINK. I figure that hour Speaker of the House, Paul Ryan, who announced his decision not to run in the midterms will resign when he sees that he will have to impeach Trump before the election. I’m hoping that Robert Mueller’s investigation will also indict Robert and Rebekah Mercer, the Billionaire’s responsible for Trump, Ryan and McConnell because they are in it up to their necks with the Russians. I’m looking forward to all of the books that will be coming out!👊👍 I’m having some issues with the word press reader which will not allow TTS to comment on the blogs that I follow outside of the app comments notifications. Apologies and I hope they get it fixed soon.

    • Hi, Lara! this is the second time that I have noticed a comment from you but did not receive a notification about it! So I don’t know how many comments I’ve missed! I’ve been having trouble with the WordPress app this is weird and I apologize because I would never ignore your comments! another part of the problem I’m having is I am unable to check what I’m writing here at this moment. Sigh. What a mess. Thank you my dear friend and I hope WordPress fixes this connecting issue.

  1. I hope ! I hope! I hope! I am glad there is additional problems that Trump can’t “fix” with a pardon stirring in NY! I don’t care who sinks his ship as long as it happens – SOON! (And take all his swamp things with him.)

    • Hi, Doug!
Last night Rachel Maddow suggested that Mitch McConnell, Paul Ryan and the rest of the Congressional Republicans are clearing the way for Trump to fire Rod Rosenstein and Robert Mueller by having Congressional committees demand documents from the Mueller investigation . I think Trump and the Republicans have become a domestic terrorist organization bent on destroying democracy. Fortunately for us they are also bungling boobs.👊

      • Thanks for telling me that. I conked out for the Rachael Maddow broadcast AND the repeat! (Hate that, since I seem always to manage to be awake for all the other repeats if I miss the initial broadcasts…) I feel they are domestic terrorists myself. They seem intent on some sort of coup on the order of the parliamentary coup Hitler managed to pull off in 1933 (Not to call them Fascists or Nazis, just clever enough to use legal or seemingly legal means to diminish any controls on their power grab – the gerrymandering, the slick trick denying Obama his right to name a Supreme Court justice, the Electoral College trick that gave us yet another Republican president elected to serve with a losing candidate having 3,000,000 more popular votes than the “winner”… Any good Italian opera – I enjoy opera, which frequently has contrived, unbelievable plots, but great music! – has a place where one of the main characters have had all he or she can stand of injustice or nastiness, and sings “BASTA!” or Italian for “ENOUGH!”. Well, as far as out national politics go these days, BASTA! It comes close enough to “bastard”, that I originally thought that was what they were singing. LOL! In all situations, that was what the person sung about was being.

      • Hi, Doug ! Brilliant!
Opera is a lot of fun and I have to admit that I really enjoy coloratura performances.
I subscribe to all of the “Lefty” podcasts and YouTube channels so if I miss anyting I can catch it that way. Things Are really speeding up and I am relying more and more on podcasts.

      • Yeah, it’s pretty iffy being an opera fan in Western Nebraska, but there are a few of us. Just slap on that cowboy hat, the tight-fitting jeans and long-sleeve shirt with fancy stitching and snaps instead of buttons, and well-scuffed cowboy boots and sing that fine cowboy anthem,

The outfit may require a bit of fine tuning, but I bet it won’t be long before all the studs are wearing something just like it, a blend of vaquero and American Indian! As you can see in the video, the women swoon and “drop drawer” as we say in the West! “Get along, little dogies” just ain’t cuttin’; it no more! LOL!

      • Excellent video! I think that sums up the discipline, Talent and skill necessary for the vocal drama and spectacle called Opera. Brava performance! There is an excellent Opera Channel on Sirius XM Satellite Radio. PBS and NPR feature at least one evening of Opera and classical music each week. Do you ever blog about it? Because it’s nice to have someone who knows what they’re talking about and can share terrific selections, like this one! I think the Three Tenors were as popular as NSYNC and Boyz II Men! Thank you for the video, Doug!👍👍

      • It’s from the French film “Farinelli”, which I highly recommend. It comes with subtitles, but the best part is the music and the Baroque stagecraft! The video gives you a good sense of that. The story is quite compelling as well. I am no expert in opera, just know what I like most. Haendel turned out (to my surprise) to be more than “The Messiah”, with a huge body of fine Baroque operas to his name. Rameau is another favorite. I like Haydn and Mozart for their operas, going later in the 1700s, and early Romantic Italian opera is a hoot for story and singing. I especially enjoy places in these where the principles on stage all sing as an ensemble, each expressing some anxiety about the turn of events, each managing not to stumble over the other in some amazing jumble that musically makes sense! (I’m sure that’s the level of bloggery I’d manage were I to write about it! LOL!) My CD and music DVD collection is mostly Baroque, Classical, and Early Romantic, but Puccini, of course, makes the cut, as do Delibes and Gilbert and Sullivan for something something lighter. I have over 200 recorded operas, an exact number I stopped trying to keep track of. I stopped collecting at the point I realized the collection would take me over a year to listen to once if I listened to music 40 hours a week, nonstop!

      • You definitely sound like an expert to me! Blocking is a great place to nudge people into life’s greatest things! When I was a kid I was lucky enough to have a mentor who steered me away from a life of crime and vice. Coming from a musical family I aspired to be a musician/singer and so my mentor introduced me to Clair de Lune by Debussy. I was born a vocal group/ Harmony/ doo wop fan and I immediately noticed that Clair de Lune was the inspiration for a Doo Wop classic “Magic Moon” by the Rays and I was hooked on classical music! At 10 years old this experience also inspired me to learn as much about music as I could from my musician mother. This single experience with Clair de Lune led to my career in music, a dream come true, and forging a link Beyond just parent and child with my mom! The power of music!
Check out Magic Moon by the Rays! Clair de Lune by Debussy is so good all they had to do was add a romantic lyric and their magnificent voices.

      • That’s a new one to me! Love it!
Tchaikovsky’s an inspiration, too, for lots of pop music as well. I tried to find the one I knew of, and discovered his music inspired quite a bit more pop music than I realized!

Of course, borrowing tunes from other composers and folk music is a long tradition going back centuries.
Here’s another link to classical-to-pop music:

Incredible! I guess I don’t listen to enough pop music to realize how much borrowing there is! Of course, good music is good music regardless of its source or style.

      • Excellent links! “A Whiter Shade of Pale” by Procol Harum is one of my favorites. I’m a total sucker for songs in minor keys. I love all of them musical borrowing. There would not have been a big band era if not for classical music. It seems only natural to me that contemporary song writers and musicians bring forward their musical influences. Thank God for public domain because copyright holders usually don’t share my view. LOL! Music is a magnificent thing. It’s too bad that Tchaikovsky’s descendants have not been able to profit from Peter Ilyich’s genius because… maybe then Russia’s economy wouldn’t depend so heavily on trolling and election meddling.👍👍… and pushing people off balconies.🎶

  2. “…one of the characters HAS had…” I’m having one of those weeks where noun-verb agreement seems to be a problem for me. I blame in on sleep deprivation and a “who cares?” attitude.

      • It’s called “Total Collapse”! Not only did I sleep something like eight hours after dialysis, I fell asleep again and got about five or six more hours sleep more last night. Whew!

      • That sounds great! I keep a strict sleep schedule because a year or so ago I got so stressed out I was only sleeping a few hours every few days. It was horrible I really thought I was going to die from all the stress. It was really wrecking my health. Up until that time I always got a proper amount of rest. I haven’t been able to get rid of the cause for the stress but I am handling it much better and back on an 8 hrs/night schedule. So, get plenty of rest! 👍💤👍

    • All of the Republican kids get $100 for each “A” on their report cards so they always have sex with their teachers so they will get that “A” on their report card… which makes them prostitutes I guess…

    • LOL! The people at outfit 7 are geniuses and their 2nd Talking Tom character image (that I have “borrowed”) is appealing, cute and ornery all at once! I’m also glad that they don’t care if I use it. Thanks, so much, Jen!👍👍
