"IGGY" Ignatius Rattlebottom-Bunn, Buffalo Tom Peabody, IGGY'S SONG PICK

On Tuesday music legend Fats Domino died. Fats will always be in my personal top 5 favorites. He sold over 110 million records… which translates into well over 220 million digital downloads in today’s terms. He was one of the earliest architects of rock and roll as well as defining the sound of 50’s rhythm and blues. He along with Elvis were the top two hitmakers of the 1950’s.

I want to feature one of Fat’s lesser-known hits, “Before I Grow Too Old” which features every aspect of his signature New Orleans sound. The horn section is nothing short of amazing and then add Fat’s genius piano rocking behind his soulful vocal and you have a masterpiece.

Check it out! 2 1/2 minutes of pure genius. It might just be one of the best things you here today… it also has a great message.

Toodles, Fats Domino! I will never be able to thank you enough for all the joy you brought into my life with your music.
Your best friend,

    • your comment came through while I was listening too Fats and I had to reply right away. Fats was a huge fan of Nat King Cole and on”Before I Grow Too Old” he uses the intro to pay homage to Nat with one of Nat’s own signature intros! Fats Domino was 100%!πŸ‘πŸ‘
