    • I’m pretty sure that “Twitler” came from the Stephanie Miller program. if you check out his Twitter account, especially the people he follows, it’s easy to see what he’s all about. I’ve heard people say, if you follow him and you aren’t a Republican Nazi, you get hit by an avalanche of trolls. So much for freedom of speech. 😨

      • Re: freedom of speech, even though I hate Trump and the GOP with a burning passion, trolls on both sides of the aisle are hell-bent on shutting down the opposing side. It’s very disheartening, and when liberals do it, it only feeds into the right’s narrative.

      • Absolutely right. I think our focus should be on removing them from office because that’s a real solution. I am a firm believer in ridiculing their nonsense. Trolls don’t bother me and have absolutely no effect on me but I know they really bother other people. Today’s Republicans have said they will be one hundred percent unreasonable about absolutely everything and I think this really frustrates people so they respond in bad ways. If Republicans want to be solidly petulant our only choice of action is to remove them from office and stop talking to them. Republicans obviously do not understand or comprehend anything they read so I don’t see any point in trolling them.
Mitch McConnell announced that there will be no money available to investigate Russian tampering in our election but of course there will be plenty of money to reinvestigate, reinvestigate, reinvestigate Hillary Clinton’s emails and plenty of money to find out which Democrat forgot to flush the Senate bathroom toilet. we can’t have social security and Healthcare But we can put up with that?

    • I think it’s time to reactivate the Dark Side of London Tower. I hear that Queen Elizabeth II has spent 65 years on the throne. I don’t believe this could have happened during the Middle Ages…
… back to your original point; who is this Trump and Putin gangster crap is so absurd. it’s really happening but it’s absurd. I’m enjoying all the fools who think they can have a conversation with people like Trump who are 100% unreasonable. We need to get busy removing them from office and ridiculing them in our spare time. Everyone who has tried to negotiate with them ends up being their scapegoat.

      • I think you’re spot on with that summation, Tom. I’m banking on the good people of America (armed with the might of The Constitution of course) to throw this clown and his little nest of vipers out on their collective ears in very short order.
As for Her Majesty, I was in town earlier and caught some of the celebrations at Buckingham Palace. It was a stirring sight and a wonderful display of British pageantry. I spoke to one of your countrymen too. A fine young man who called me “sir” 🙂
God bless America and God save Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth! *salutes stiffly*

      • I definitely envy you Brits! The British Isles positively ooze magic and wit.
As for Donald Trump? He is becoming so tedious and tiresome. He’s like a petulant kid that won’t shut up or stop punching his sister and that, not his criminality, will probably be his undoing. Americans will just tire of it and want the turd to go away. We never prosecutor punish our Criminal presidents.

      • Funnily enough, I was just reading a piece about the impeachment hoop-la and it seems pretty unlikely that Trump will be getting his just deserts any time soon. Maybe he’ll just catch a cold and die. I’ll hold onto that warm thought for a while 🙂

      • Hahahahaha!
I heard a new anagram for Donald Trump, on the Stephanie Miller Show this morning. You can rearrange the letters of his name to form Lord Damp Nuts! This, just might make him more appealing to the Queen!
It’s early yet for Donald and it will take a while for him to tarnish the Republican image, sufficiently enough, to send Mitch McConnell and the party into a panic. as soon as the average American equates Republican with CROOKS & LIARS, as they did with Nixon, THEN Trump is history. Republicans do not have popular ideas, and they know it, so all of the negative attention they are receiving, because of Trump, will force them to get rid of trump to save their own skins… and when you factor in Steve Bannon, Betsy DeVos, Mike Pence and the rest, damage control may not be possible. I’m starting to think that out of all the ignorant things Donald Trump has done and will do that Steve Bannon is probably the poison pill. Shamelessness is a Hallmark of the Republican Party so this will take some time but they really don’t like it when people see them for the corrupt bastards they really are. 👍👍

      • Do you mean that you think Bannon’s alt-right views will eventually lead to Mr POTUS getting the constitutional heave-ho? If so, it can’t come soon enough. Have you seen his latest bullshit press release? He’s claiming that the dishonest media don’t report Muslim terror attacks.
        Say WHAT, Mr Trump sir???

      • Spot on! The only thing Steve Bannon has going for him is that he is an unknown quantity too mainstream Americans. Donald Trump claims that all of his “people” are “reformers.” Donald Trump, as well as all Republicans, speak a Mercurial version of doublespeak that constantly evolves to suit them. Up until today “reformer” meant a change for the better… for Trump and Republicans it now means; how can Republicans make a profit off of this? Much in the same way as a sociopath referring to a “friend” actually means; future victim. Sociopaths are not reformers and they do not have friends … EVER. Fortunately for all of us Donald Trump may just be the guy capable of releasing the Republican stench, full force. I’m hoping that the new Republican “alternative facts” will rot the bottom out of the Republican Party and their conniving shysterism. Republican Party = Grifters.

      • LOL! Betsy DeVos is the billionaire Amway Queen (Amway is a business based on a pyramid scheme that has been ripping people off for decades.) Her brother is the founder and CEO of Halliburton (Private Army/Security services which makes billions of dollars off of the US government as part of the Republican privatization of our military. A private Army that answers to no one except Halliburton.) Halliburton is where Trump will get his secret police force, if he continues with that. To say that Republicans maintain incestuous relationships is an understatement. Billionaire hogs at the public trough. the only thing Betsy DeVos knows about public education is that she doesn’t like it and she thinks “all schools should have guns in case they have to shoot a rogue grizzly bear.”
Some good news this morning! It looks like the Foreign Press has forced the American Press to take their balls out of their Collective purses. the Press worked over kellyanne Conway yesterday and this has made her cranky and bitchy today. LOL! I believe the honeymoon is over !
Mitch McConnell, Senate Majority Leader from Kentucky, told the esteemed Senator Elizabeth Warren to shut up and sit down during her remarks concerning Coretta Scott King. Mitch McConnell has been flying under the public’s radar for decades. He is a hateful gasbag and I’m hoping that his power-hungry over-reaching will put him directly in the spotlight. With his scandalous past and present He won’t hold up to the scrutiny. 😨

      • Ah, so Ms DeVos was the “grizzly bear lady”? I remember reading some good stuff from the American satirists on that one. Andy Borowitz in The New Yorker was particularly good value if memory serves 🙂
Jesus H Christ my friend, how much worse is this gonna get exactly? 🙂
I guess all we can do is protest and hunker down until these jokers are dealt with.
I saw a piece in The Independent earlier, in which some pretty switched on and well-respected psychologists had all come to the conclusion that The Donald was a suitable case for a spell, in what I believe you guys refer to as, The Booby Hatch. I thought of you as soon as I read it and will send you a link if I can find it. It’s pretty interesting (and slightly disconcerting) stuff.
Anyways, lets cross everything and hope for a speedy solution to this mess. Maybe a grizzly bear at the next cabinet meeting may prove to be the answer 😀

      • Hahahahaha! Donald Trump isn’t just crazy he’s also functionally illiterate… he openly admits he’s never read a book but this week or next he is going to explain freedom of religion to us all… with an executive order design to legalize discrimination on a religious basis.
one of the real crimes in all of this is that you don’t have to be a fortune teller to know what this Republican bunch is up to. It’s what they always do. It’s what they always will do. It’s when George W bush did. It’s with George Herbert Walker Bush did. It’s what Ronald Reagan did. It’s what Richard Nixon did. it just gets more ignorant and hateful each time.
Jeff Sessions has been sworn in as Attorney General… he is from my state of Alabama and he is a hateful little man. there are no decent Republicans to replace these turds. The entire party must go. the Republican party is Thoroughly corrupted. we have been here many times before and we will continue doing this until people wake up or Republicans start eating their own…

      • Hahahahaha! Trump claimed, during the campaign, that he would be the most physically fit president in history! I think what will happen, during one of their midnight coven satanic cluster ceremonies, Steve B worship annon will conjure a pack of jackals that will consume them all because they were unable to fight them off with their tiny hands!

      • Well, Lucy, now you have gone and done it… You have made this all worthwhile! Thank you.
You get so many comments on your blog posts it’s amazing how you keep up with all of it. I am going to dive into your “Never A Cross Word” series, with my morning coffee tomorrow. I’m a huge fan of Agatha Christie and I particularly admire her creation of pristine characters while weaving excellent mysteries. 👍👍

      • Aw – your blog is massively worthwhile! It’s hilarious and so clever. I try to keep up with comments as best I can, I’m just grateful people read my stuff, to be honest. Usually the comments section is more entertaining than the actual posts. I hope you enjoy the Christie parody – I can’t claim to be anywhere near as good as her, but I felt the need to resurrect Captain Hastings as he was left out of the Sophie Hannah Poirot novels – a criminal offence in my opinion!

      • Thank you for your kind words and you are so right about the comment section. I often think how great it would have been if Shakespeare, Charles Dickens, Flannery O’Connor and Mark Twain had blogs! What fun it would have been to shake their trees! I would have to pity any troll that crossed them!
I am not a writer but I am an accomplished reader who loves great characters and the authors loyalty to them. I am definitely enjoying your work for all of these reasons!

      • I think that Charles Dickens was kind of the original blogger as he first published his works in serial form – it would have been brilliant if he and other great scribes could have had comment sections!
I am so, so pleased you are enjoying my stuff – it really means a lot to me. Your blog always makes me laugh out loud, it’s so clever and witty. You may not consider yourself a writer, but I certainly consider you an accomplished entertainer and satirist and will continue to big a big fan 🙂
